Very pretty, colorful, one-of-a-kind artisan-made seed-beaded Wildflower Statement Necklace, featuring 3 larger central flowers, 3 smaller ones, and several green leaves. It was made in 2013 by Nancy Rocknich of Wildwood Beadwork's in Estes Park CO, a very talented and accomplished artist. This is a most beautiful 17 long necklace made with great skill and a great sense of design and color. It consists of the artist's "favorite wildflowers" including a yellow and purple columbine (3"), a pink wild rose (2"), and a white globe flower (1.5). Three smaller seed bead flowers include a brown-eyed Susan yellow daisy, a violet flower and a blue forget me not (1 each).
Each flower is beaded with seed beads and crystals individually then attached to the armature, which has been beaded completely using green beads. Besides seed beads, crystals and the armature, the artist used delica beads, green beads, blue beads, yellow beads, pink beads and a coire chain.
The quality of the beading is outstanding and exceptional. The fastener is a beaded loop and a metal button with a woman's face and hair and petals around them (last photo). It is a statement necklace that speaks to love of nature and the beauty of wild flowers and their charming colors and graceful shapes. It falls very comfortably at the neck just at the collarbone. It could be worn casually or at a dress up occasion.
